The inaugural Skills Access Fair organised jointly by Dorcas ACTS and The ORCA Project was held on Saturday 18 May at the Albany Creek Uniting Church in North Brisbane.
It was a wonderful sunny autumn day, we had 9 workshops covering a wide range of skills. Workshops were held in a variety of spaces from training rooms to outdoor patios, to stylish marquees, to greenhouses. The ORCA project team hosted the event providing tea, cakes and a coffee cart.
The presenters time and all costs were donated, the event raised $5,430, half each going to The ORCA Project and Dorcas ACTS.
Thank you to everyone who helped stage the event, and thank you to everyone who participated. Given the success of the event we have decided to make it an annual event.
